Six Word Memoir (#2)

Author's note:

 

I chose this picture because I thought it was the best possible picture to represent friendship. It represents both the relationship between the U.S. and Canada and on a personal level, it represents the new friends that I made on my trip to Washington D.C.. The words I chose also represent friendships at every possible level and it describes how a friendship, with all it's difficulty and ease, can be the strongest thing in the world and will help the progression into future times. The image in it's entirety represents to me my friends, my new friends, my old friends and the varying relationships that I have with all of my friends.

Six Word Memoir (#1)

Author's note:

 

The reason that I chose this picture was because I thought it was interesting and reflected well the way most people feel when they don't want to do anything on a "lazy day". I thought that the angle and focus on depth of field gave it a certain artistic value and that the filter that I used made the photo more visible overall. The words that I chose to use for this six word memoir were inspired both by the provided picture as well as an everyday kind of advice. The six words suggests that you live in the moment and enjoy the temporary happiness and the picture suggests that you relax and do whatever you want.

Six Word Memoir (#6)

Author's note:

This picture was taken a fairly long while ago by me. The picture, combined with the memoir, represents however family and unconditional love. The memoir "don't voluntarily desert the greatest gift" means that family is the greatest gift that you'll ever have because they'll always be with you and love you unconditionally. Desertion is the worst thing that you could do to something that is that great that has been given to you completely free.

Author's note: 

I chose this photo because I thought it represented well the past and the future and combined well with the six word memoir that I came up with. By "the future begins with the past" I mean that the choices and decisions that you make, as well as other people make, moulds the guidelines in which future events take place. It is symbolic on both a personal level and a universal level. On a personal level, it represents family, as my ancestors are shown in the photo, and it represents my own decisions and past as well as my future. On a universal level it represents all past and all future. 

Six Word Memoir (#4)

Author's note:

The reason that I chose this picture is because I thought it was really interesting  and had a very nice visual appeal with the large Washington monument in the background that has it's starchy reflection in the foreground. I chose those words for this six word memoir because I thought it was a good representation of how, even when you're standing alone, you're still surrounded by people, whether they're there physically or you understand that they will be around to protect you when you're mentally unable to take care if yourself. It also symbolizes the relationship between the U.S. and Canada. However on a personal level it represents the people that I know and the people that are close to me and how we watch out for each other and keep each other safe. 

Photo Scavenger Hunt

This is a collage of certain photos which I find metaphorical by the use of perseverance. The black and white metaphoto of my great-great grandfather, George Stephens, and his wife, who at the time had been married for a lovingly 75 years. They are a symbol of a past yet a reminder of the future, that is, their future together and the creation of their future family, including me. The above photo, a close up metaphoto of the photo in the trophy cabinet and of the trophy cabinet, with a definite reflective look, is meant to make you "reflect" on friendship, as in, who you're real friends are and what kind of friend you want to be. It also showcases the sort of passion is housed at our school. The photo to the left, of the ads for universities, is an example of juxtaposition, the blunt comparison between being in a crowded place, surrounded by people, yet also feeling completely alone in your journey through and trying to find the first few pages of the story that you're writing. I must confess that I absolutely hate the idea of being overwhelmed with the great multitude of options and not knowing where I'm going to end up in the end. The photo to the left of that photo, is a metaphoto of a poster. The reason I took this photo is because, to me, the words appear impactful and indent themselves in my mind. Below that, a silhouette of a piano in the band hall. It showcases the sort of talent we have in our band program at school. It's also meaningful to me because when I was little, I wanted to play an instrument and didn't think I was good at guitar so I started playing the Piano.

Reading Work # 4 (Part 1)

Well, I should've never gotten married. I still can't believe Vicki left me for that "star" husband. I won't ever let that happen again. #lessonlearned

Forrest can't take care of himself. He's mature enough now to understand right from wrong. I tried helping you once but I'll leave you to your own devices now. #sorrynotsorry

I don't want to see my father or Forrest. I just don't see a point to seeing them again. What will it accomplish? I'm hoping that my father has something truly importaant to discuss. #TBT
